| Race for the Throne: Second Leg Events | | | |
| Events for the second leg of the race are posted here. I urge everyone to check them out and come out to rep Spider at as many events as possible (well maybe not until the SE release, we have some serious underpowered issues up until then) see if we can take some of these jewel tournaments.
Also of interest is our ability to reclaim the Tao of Fu Leng from the Crab Clan. Check that offer out over here. I think this is an incredible thing for Salman to do and I hope one of us can reclaim the book from him. Good luck everyone in the second leg. We have some work to do. | |

Just a quick message to let everyone know that our forums are up and running, so register and get posting. You can find them right here or in the menu to the left. | |
| So, you've taken the bait - you've come to the first Spider Clan fan site! But you still have questions, namely "What is the Spider Clan?" and "What are the ideals and goals of the Spider Clan?" and of course, "What makes the Spider Clan cool, anyway?" Well, the folks at Alderac Entertainment Group have - bit by bit - started to answer these questions for us.
Just the other day AEG updated the awesome new www.l5r.com web site with new info on the Spider Clan. Check it out here and here! The long and short of it is that the Spider Clan is a mysterious new faction acting covertly within the borders of the empire in order to root out and destroy various dangerous, criminal groups throughout the Emerald Empire. They seek to unify the Empire so that it can be strong enough to withstand any threat that may arise.
That's not all the information AEG has given us, though. In Imperial Herald #21, we get an intimate look at the ritualistic orientation that a new Spider Clan samurai goes through as he swears fealty to his lord - Daigotsu! We also find out that Daigotsu has smuggled men passed the dreaded Kaiu Wall over the past few months, setting up three bases of operation: One in the Ruins of Otosan Uchi, the tainted remains of the old Capital; another in the devastated remnants of Beiden pass, where years prior an avalanche crashed in; and finally in the Shinomen Mori, the mysterious forest which is home to the sleeping Naga.
Finally, in perhaps the most insightful news, AEG gifts us with knowledge of the long term goals of the Spider Clan. Daigotsu seeks to unify the Empire under the Spider Clan so that when his new child (who has the blood of a Hantei and the direct blessing of Fu Leng himself) comes of age, he may receive an Empire of his own - all according to a prophecy most clear.
So that's what we know so far: The Spider Clan is a faction unified under the Dark Lord Daigotsu, dedicated to bringing peace to the Empire, through sheer force and calculating cunning both. We here at the Tuftuf Sake House look forward to being the number one source for all of your Spider Clan news, previews, and more. Take a look around, and make yourself at home - the time has come, the Spider Clan will spread its web, and you too are called to join us in the Dark Lord's campaign to bring peace and security to the Empire!
